Les zazas
"Les Zazas" is a project that celebrates Congolese Independence Day through photography, reflecting deep connection to my roots in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Growing up in Belgium and now living in Canada, my parents instilled in me the importance of knowing and loving our heritage. The project features a family—parents and three children—drawing inspiration from my mother’s conservative fashion in old photographs. The men are dressed as iconic figures in Congolese history, with the father styled after Mobutu Sese Seko and the son after Patrice Lumumba, reflecting my father's passion for Congolese politics.
